Boring, Bland Garbage

My scanner has since died, for reasons almost certainly not related to frame 11. The dialogue in 12 was another of those things I’d had in my notes forever, but couldn’t find a use for it. As it turns out, I got three comic strips out of it. Really the how-to series should all have been one strip, but there wasn’t any good way to fit all the text.

Transcript (for he’s a jolly good fellow)

Today, SDT continues to present “How to Start your own Stick-Figure Webcomic in 12 Easy Steps.”

Panel 1

Narrator
Step Nine: Give your stick figures distinguishing features, such as hair, glasses, and a hat.

The photograph of the drawing from the last strip recurs. This time, one can tell that the stick figure holding the bag is Adam, the other is Mike.

Panel 2

Narrator
Step Ten: Trace the pencil lines with the marker.

The photograph is now of the same image, but with the pencil lines traced.

Panel 3

Narrator
Step Eleven: Scan drawing, adjusting the scanner if necessary.

Adam, screaming, rushes at his scanner with a baseball bat.

Panel 4

Narrator
Add funny words.

Adam and mike are standing facing each other. Adam is holding a large trash bag.

Adam
I’ve trained five weasels to bite people in the groin, but I don’t remember why, so I’m just going to release them in a laundromat.
Narrator
Well, the important thing is you tried.
